ES Student Accounts
ES students have access to the school Active Directory, Purplemash, Google Apps, Typing Ace and Weebly account. Access to various Web2 Tools and Apps is given to students upon individual teacher need for integrating technology and teachers are in control of creating and managing their class accounts.
All AAS Elementary School students from Grade3 to Grade5, have Typing Ace student accounts. With our young students from Kindergarten to Grade2 we use the alternative keyboarding tutors 2Type on Purplemash, Keyboarding Without Tears and Dance Mat Typing. The focus in the lower school is on hand and fingers position and posture while the upper elementary school emphasis is on speed and accuracy.
All AAS Elementary School students from Grade3 to Grade5, have Weebly student accounts that can be used from multiple devices unrestricted of place and time. Student websites are password protected by default and Digital Citizenship is entwined throughout web authoring projects. Upper Elementary School students can use Weebly for class, group and individual projects as well as for student portfolios. Lower elementary classes can use Weebly with their class account to create shared group or class websites. Teachers can use their Weebly class account to set up a class blog or a class website. Teachers also have access to the AAS Weebly for Education Admin Panel from where they can create and manage student and class accounts.
